Install Adafruit.IO WipperSnapperThis tool will install WipperSnapper version Loading... on certain boards. Click below to see if your board is supported, then follow the instructions to install the firmware.
Not your board? Click here to select a supported board from a list.
Make sure your board is plugged into this computer via a Serial connection using a USB Cable.
NOTE: A lot of people end up using charge-only USB cables and it is very frustrating! Make sure you have a USB cable you know is good for data sync.
Click this button to open the Web Serial connection menu.
There may be many devices listed, such as your remembered Bluetooth peripherals, anything else plugged into USB, etc.
If you aren't sure which to choose, look for words like "USB", "UART", and "Bridge Controller". There may be more than one right option depending on your system configuration. Experiment if needed.
Alternatively, you can continue offline to generate a binary file that can be flashed later.
Click this button to generate a board image to be flashed later.
NOTE: You network credentials will be encoded in the binary file. We suggest you do not distribute the file. If you are concerned about security, you may want to use the Web Serial method.
Do not disconnect your board from your computer from here on!
Enter the credentials for the wifi network your board will connect to, as well as your Adafruit IO Username and IO Key. You may optionally set the brightness of the LEDs WipperSnapper uses for status indicators between 0.0 and 1.0 (for example, 0.5 would be "50 percent brightness".)
NOTE: Your wifi network must be using 2.4Ghz frequency.
Click "Install WipperSnapper" to get the process started. If you've already installed the WipperSnapper firmware and simply need to update your credentials, click "Update Credentials ONLY".
Click "Generate Binary Image" to create an image. After the image is generated, it will automatically download.
